Winter Party Look – Dark Lips, Big Eyes, Full-on Contouring

It’s the last few days before Christmas and there’s parties everywhere to cram in to our busy schedules – even after Christmas there’s winter celebrations going on tenfold! I, myself, have already got something booked in every night this week – it’s nonstop!

So to try to help, I’ve put together a winter party look tutorial which should glam up any evening do! Dark lips (very sumptuous!), big eyes (but not too heavy nor dark – keep the focus on your dark lips… we’re not going for the gothic look tonight!)… and some full on contouring! All the best bits to make you stand out.

This look is super easy to put together, and it’s also an affordable look using a variety of brands – as always, I use MAC for my foundation, highlighter, concealer, and this time for my eye shadow too (I do love MAC!), however I also use products from BeautyUK, Stargazer, Avon, Maxfactor, MUA, GOSH and eyelashes from Eylure.

I absolutely love the velvet touch products available at the moment, and find myself using them with more and more looks which I create – in this video I used the velvet mascara from Maxfactor, along with a velvet touch lipstick from GOSH – both amazing products that I would highly recommend.

If you like this look/tutorial then keep tuned and subscribe to my YouTube channel (RobenBeauty) as well as on here – I will shortly be receiving some new samples to try out from various brands and I can’t wait to update you all!

Lots of love,

Roben x

Contouring for pale skin

My very first tutorial video! How exciting!

As I am a naturally very pale person, I know how hard it can be to master the art of contouring – particularly when a lot of ‘how to’ videos star beautiful tanned women (if not naturally, then fake tanned – something I’ve never been overly interested in doing)… so I found a way to get over the obstacle of being able to contour – after all, just because we’re pale doesn’t mean we shouldn’t enjoy the art of make-up!

There are a lot of contouring palettes available on the high street, however, I found them all to be too dark or harsh on my skin tone, and so I opted for something a bit different…. eye shadow! As crazy as it sounds, it really works! And best of all, there are so many shades out there that you can make the contouring as dark or as light as you need – perfect!

Once you’ve found the perfect shade for you (mine in the video is a True Colour eye shadow palette from Avon in ‘Mocha Latte’ that I bought about 3 years ago), you can just go ahead and follow the steps to apply.

I would just mention that if you are using an eye shadow for contouring, you will need a powdered base, or the eye shadow will just stick in clumps to you face and not blend at all. If, like me, you use a liquid foundation then simply dust a coating of a powder foundation on top or use a finishing/setting powder to set a nice smooth base ready for your eye shadow contouring!

Top it off with a quick brush of blush and you’re all set!

Please watch my video (they’ll be links to my other videos along side this one), and comment, like and share.

Lots of love,

Roben x
